How Things Are Going

I once gave Louie a little touch-lamp for his birthday. At the time it seemed a little...I don't know...non-wifelike to give such a boring gift. But since then we've decided it's one of our favorite things. I have to say, though, 2AM feedings have become somewhat like playing the game "Operation". I touch the lamp once to turn it to the dimmest setting. When I need anything else from the night stand - water, burp cloth, etc - I have to slowly inch my hand around the lamp to get them. If I miss and brush past the lamp: OH HORRIBLE LIGHT!
Funny what you think of in the middle of the night.

The boys (especially Calvin) are in love with Elias. They kiss him, hug him, hold him, and then they go about their business. They'll be off in their play-world and forget we have a new person around, only to re-discover him and be thrilled all over again. So far, so good.

OH, Jessie. He does look "yummy" in all those new person ways. Glad the brothers are in love. Take care of yourself, too. Love,S

I wish I lived closer so that I could give him lots of kisses and then still be able to go about my business.

He is a chunk! Love it. It looks like the boys are loving their brother enormously. Sorry about the lamp. There's nothing worse than a bright light in the middle of the night to interrupt things.

One more question, are you calling him Eli for short (not that it isn't an already short name). I just don't want to call him something that you don't ever plan on calling him. With William, my in-laws are already starting to call him "Bill, little Billy, Willy", etc. It's totally annoying. Just want to make sure I don't call him anything you absolutely hate.

We do call him Eli and "Light" (as per the ancestor he was named for, who also went by Light).

Your boys are growing up! Look at them in that picture - I hardly recognize them anymore, and it's only been just over a year. Elias sure is a sweetheart too.

We love our touch lamp, too! It lives at our house and is never really used until we have a baby and then it becomes an absolute necessity. I actually made Warren go buy another one when Audrey was 4 days old so I had one for my room and one for the nursery. Love the picture of the big boys loving on Elias!

I have been meaning to get on here and see how you were doing and if you had that little one - or more like when you had that little one - who is not so little. CONGRATS!
I am glad that things went well and that the big boys are loving him too. He is adorable and I love the name! Just wanted you to know I have been thinking of you since we were at the doctors at the same time. Small world!
Loves!

I'm glad the boys are in love with him. All three of your boys sure look cute together! How are YOU doing?

That light seems like a good idea, but I can see why it would be annoying too. I know about the nightstand juggling. It is tricky even without worrying about touching a light! I still have my nightstand stocked with wipes, diapers, and a burp rag for the first morning feeding (6 or 7).

Anyways, I hope things are going well!

Oh he does look delicious. I must admit... it's the cheeks. Love them.
I do so love watching the sibling relationship. The good and the bad. Gotta love little boys.
I am glad life seems to be going well for you.
